Walmart is hosting a Barbie Cares event tomorrow, Saturday, November 8, from noon to 3pm. You can bring your old Barbies to be recycled. You can also have your picture taken with Barbie, so bring your camera! You will receive a certificate to make one FREE print at Walmart's photo center that same day. There will also be other Barbie themed giveaways while supplies last.
If you live in the Wichita area, the event is at the 21st & Maize store and at the West Kellogg location. If you live in another city, you can check here for the closest location.
Update: We saw Barbie! She was dressed up like Princess Liana, promoting the new Barbie movie. The girls got hot pink Barbie tote bags that said, "Barbie Cares" on one side and had the Barbie logo on the other. There was a coupon in the bag for 1 free 4x6 photo and another coupon for $4 off a photo album. There was also a booklet featuring Barbie products of course. At my local Walmart, they didn't have a box for recycling Barbies nor did they mention the Barbie Cares program except that it was on the box. They did say that they were going to upload the pictures of all the kids onto Snapfish if you want to order more photos. I'm not sure I like this idea though, because they didn't have a special code or anything, so I guess just anyone can see the photos. That doesn't seem right. I'll let you know what I find out when I check Snapfish later today.
