Make It Yourself Monday

I've decided to dedicate my first Make It Yourself Monday to Halloween. It is one of our favorite holidays. Yesterday we made salt dough (see recipe below) and then used pumpkin and witch shaped cookie cutters to make our shapes. Once the dough dries all the way, we'll paint them and string them together to make a "spooktacular" garland.

Salt Dough
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
1 cup cold water

Slowly add 1 cup water to the flour and salt mixture. Keep adding water 'til the dough is thoroughly mixed, but not too sticky. If the dough gets too sticky, just add more flour. To dry the dough, let it sit out in a warm, dry place for several days, rotating often. You can also bake in the oven at 200. Time will vary depending on thickness of the dough and oven itself. Make sure the dough is completely dry before painting!
